Recently I just noticed that Firefox renders the font as if it’s in high contrast mode or without anti-alias, especially for Japanese font face like Noto Sans.
After googling around, I found a workaround to make it a little smoother.
First, open Firefox (of course) and type about:config
in the address bar (just accept the warning).

In the search bar, type the following and hit enter
gfx.font_rendering.cleartype_params.enhanced_contrast

Now modify the value from -1
to 0
.

It’s not as smooth as in Chrome, but a little bit better.
